An Informatics Perspective
Well, what did you think of today’s session? Dr. Bambang Parmanto and his colleagues discussed the issues related to the technical infrastructure that supports telerehabilitation. We anticipate a lot of interaction with all of you as participants this week, so let’s keep the discussion going here! Post your thoughts, comments and questions. If you missed the first session, view the archived recording at http://pitt.na3.acrobat.com/p85426544/.
In my opinion, the definition of telerehabilitation seems dependant on technical perspective. How about defining the telerehabilitation from the patient’s view point?
Two things I would like to mention in the first day discussion are 1) quality of service in telerehabilitation and 2) lifecycle management of telerehabilitation service and technology within the cycle of user needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, field verification, and maintenance.
ps. Personally, I do not like using the term informatics. We can use IT convergence that includes traditional computer engineering, telecommunications, pervasive computing, robotics and material science.
